Welcome to the 3Veg website

Three Villages Eco Group
is a positive community action group working towards a sustainable future and an improved quality of life for local people.

We aim to raise awareness of the need to prepare for a more self-reliant community in the face of the twin issues of climate change and decreasing fossil fuels.

We meet in the 3 villages throughout the year. Membership is free and everybody is welcome. Meeting dates are advertised in PS News and parish magazines as well as through our email newsletter.

We are
working closely with other environmentally aware groups in East Herts, with East Herts District Council, and with Braughing and Standon Parish Councils. Local schools are also involved through the Rib Valley Extended Schools Consortium.

Tree Planting

Four new cobnut trees and 2 replacement pear trees were planted in February at the Community Orchard at Braughing Allotments. It was a difficult summer for the newly planted trees last year, but all except two survived, although another two were recently damaged. It is hoped the latter will recover There are now 25 fruit and nut trees at the orchard, many of them local Hertfordshire varieties. Each tree has been adopted by a local Society, and 3VEG is now arranging for a permanent information board to be placed at the orchard.

Thermal Imaging

When the weather turns colder we shall be starting the thermal imaging programme again, so register by ringing 07518 478748. We will come round and take thermal images of your house to show where heat is escaping, and will provide information on energy saving. If you registered last year we promise that you will be contacted very soon.
